Modern Warfare 2 Text 29
In this tutorial you can learn how to create a modern warfare text effect. You can use this to promote games or even create a modern website header related to war or anything else.
1. Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 700×300 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with black color. Now select the horizontal type tool then set the font family to arial, bold, 48 pt, smooth and #D3EDC4 color shade. In a new text layer type “MODERN WARFARE” or text anything you want.
2. Under layer style (layer – layer style) add an inner glow blending option to your white text layer.
Result:
3. In a new text layer type your name in black on the same location as your first text.
4. Under layer style (layer – layer style) add an inner glow blending option to your black text layer. Then set the layer’s blending mode to lighten.
Result:
5. In a new layer draw a 1 px white line across your text then draw a 1 px black line below the white line. Now set the layer’s blending mode to soft light at 22% opacity level.
6. Now add more transparent lines all over your text design.
7. Now in a new text layer type 2 using a large font size and rasterize the layer so its edible. Then cut out a vertical rectangle on the middle of the 2.
8. Under layer style (layer – layer style) add an inner glow and stroke blending options to your 2 shape layer. Then set the layer’s blending mode to darken.
Result:
9. You’ve just created a modern warfare 2 text effect.

Great tutorial, easy to make and clearly explained! Thanks
.
Thanks, very cool tut! Cheers!
Keep up the good work!
Any chance you can upload a psd of it?
You can download the .psd at the end of the tutorial, all you have to do is register and you’ll see the link
! This tutorial has 2 pages so don’t forget to go to the end of this tutorial at the second page, that’s where you can download it
! In fact, you can download every .psd file of each tutorial on this website!
Regards.
To be honest, the result isn’t realy like the real logo, which is lighter. But nice tut anyway!
Nice, if you want to use the correct font. Its called Bank Gothic Md BT. I use it, its a cool font.
Nice text!
Thats pretty horny…
Merci pour le psd.
After that you could go to stylize>wind then change it from left to right.
How could I get the psd of this?
Just register and then you’re able to download the .psd files at the bottom of each tutorial
.
Where did you get the ’2′ from ?
Not that bad, not 100% but it’s a good start.
What you can also do is:
1) Use wind (like someone else said to do).
2) Make your 2 lines like said in the Tutorial and then merge them with another text layer and go filter>blur>motion blur and mess around with the settings some untill you find a fit to it.
Overall good tut!
This is explained in step seven on the second page of this tutorial
.
What program are you using?
Photoshop CS4
!
Nice one man, good job!
Sweet man just one thing, what are you using to do all that?
Photoshop
!
I can’t get to the second page. It redirects me into the first page.
@sniperpadge He’s using Adobe Photoshop CS2 I think.
Very nice!
Fixed it, I’m sorry
!
How to cut out a vertical rectangle in the middle of the 2?
You right click on the text layer where you wrote the 2 and rasterize it. After that you can use your selection tool to remove the vertical rectangle in the middle of the 2
!
Many thanks for this tutorial and psd files
