Orange Gradient Banner 6

Design an orange gradient banner with a blurry text effect to make people notice what’s on your banner.

1. Create a new document (600*150).

2. Fill the background with any color you want using the paint bucket tool but apply these settings for a gradient while adjusting the blending options (lyaer – layer style – blending options).

3. Now type out some text (the font I used is called planet kosmos with a size of 60px) and again change the blending options of this layer and add an inner shadow and a stroke with the following settings shown in these 2 screenshots below. But before you do this, duplicate this text layer once before you apply these effects because we’re going to need that one later in this tutorial.

4. Actually we already need the duplicated layer from the previous step… Select it and go to (filter – blur – radial blur- and use these settings.

5. Now select the layer from step 4 and drag it under your text layer with the effects… Also set the blending mode to overlay!

6. Type some more text under your site title (a slogan for example)… The font I used is cataneo bt with a size of 13px… I’ve also adjusted the blending options again to add an outer glow with the following settings shown in the first picture. In the second screenshot you can see what we should have untill now!

7. In this last step I’ve just added a new layer and created a white 1px stroke… You do this by selecting everything (select – all) and then go to (select – modify – contract 1px)… Then (select – inverse) and fill the selected area with white #ffffff… This last step wasn’t really an easy one but you have to learn to find out things for yourself… This header can be used for a nice portfolio, a blog header, a gaming community, a forum,…
