Learn how to create an awesome portfolio design with a lot of content boxes and an attractive look.

1. Create a new document (750*650).

2. Fill the background with #ffffff using the paint bucket tool.

3. Now create a new layer (layer – new layer) and paste a picture in the middle of your background with a width of 300px and a heigth of 350px. We’re going to adjust the blending options of this layer in the next step.

4. Adjust the blending options of the layer and add a white inner stroke and a drop shadow with the following settings.

5. This is what you should have after adding and adjusting the blending options!

6. Now create another new layer (layer – new layer) and select a rectangle shaped box on the left of your previous picture layer using your rectangular marquee tool and fill it with black #000000 like this!

7. Copy the layer style from the picture layer and paste it on the new layer you’ve just created! We will have to repeat this step a few times since we’re going to use it on all boxes we’re going to create in this tutorial! But for now you should have something like the picture under the one where we’ve just pasted the layer style!

8. This next step is very simple… We’re going to add a nice looking flower to give this layout a natural look! Use the picture under this step and past it like shown in the next picture.

Very nice tutorial. Please put a bit bigger images in your posts. Small images are spoiling layout look.

I love the tutorials and download the .psd’s for future reference.

But can we use some of your designs in any sites we then sell on to clients? If we change colours etc. and have a link/acknowledgement to you/your site?

    Thanks…

I don’t recommend selling these desgins… If someone finds out they are free to download you won’t have a happy customer! But you’re free to use these layouts for everything! A link back to my site would be great so go ahead ;-) !
